Gharanas
Gharana literally means family. In musicological terms, however, it implies 'musical lineage' or 'musical tradition'. The name of gharana is associated with the place of its origin, the style of presentation, the kind of ornamentation used, sometimes their typical bandishes .
We at Hari Arts provide gharanedar Gurus.
Banares Gharana
Today, the Benares tabla gharana is well known for its powerful sound, though Benares players are also very capable of playing delicately and sensitively. The gharana is categorized into the Purbi (eastern) baj, which includes the Farukhabad, Lucknow, and Benares gharanas. The Benares style makes use of the more resonant strokes of tabla.

The Banares gharana has produced many outstanding vocal, instrumental and dance performers.

Some great maestros are-
Pt. Bade Ramdas Ji (Khyal Gayak)
Pt. Jalpa Prasad Mishra (khyal Gayak)
Pt. Kishan Maharaj (tabla)
Pt.Birju Maharaj (katahak)

Dilli Gharana
The Dilli (Delhi) Gharana is the oldest of the tabla gharanas and the first to establish improvisation rules. The Dilli tabla style is famous for its vast and rich repertoire of Kayadas. Overall, the sound quality tends to focus on avoiding the overuse of loud, resonant baya (left-hand tabla) strokes in favor of lighter, more precise strokes. The temperament and style of playing is generally soft and esoteric.
